In this program presented by Snapology of Downingtown, your little paleontologists will explore what dinosaurs ate and when they lived while constructing their very own dinosaur model out of DUPLO blocks. Prehistoric Creature Robotics

This program, presented by Snapology of Downingtown, focuses on the creatures that roamed the Earth before recorded history! Your engineer will explore the basics of robotics while building some fascinating prehistoric creatures! While working with a partner to complete various challenges, kids will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice.

Amazing Animal Adaptations

Meet some live raptors, reptiles and other animals! Learn about each animals features for survival and conservation measures in place to protect them. Due to the nature of the program, it is for adults and children ages 6 years or older. Adults must stay with their children for the duration of the program! Presented by the Indian Run Environmental Education Center! This program will be held at Barclay Park (535 N. Church St.) as long as the weather permits.

Rockin’ Through the Revolution - This program supports CC250!

Join teacher and musician Damien Drago for a fun, high-energy journey through the American Revolution! Through original songs, storytelling, and surprising historical facts, kids and families will meet fascinating figures like George Washington, Abigail Adams, Phillis Wheatley, and Benedict Arnold. Along the way, we’ll explore the causes of the Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, Valley Forge, and the creation of the Constitution. Perfect for elementary-aged children and families, this interactive program gets audiences singing, laughing, and learning together as we celebrate the founding of our nation.

Create Your Own Story!

In this five-session workshop, students will use their imagination to create characters, build new worlds, and write their own stories. Each session includes fun activities and guided writing time to help ideas grow. By the end of the program, students will have a finished story to share! This workshop is led by Ilarlar Deng, a local high school student who has written and self-published a novel and enjoys mentoring younger writers.

The perennially popular Holiday Home Tour will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and will showcase eight homes in the Borough decked out for the holidays. Ranging from petite to grand, the homes blend original details with modern updates and display the homeowners’ art, collectibles, and antiques.  Tour attendees will also be welcomed at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center, Chester County Art Association, and will receive free admission during the Tour at the Chester County History Center.

Holiday Home Tour advance tickets are $45 per person and may be purchased in the library or online through December 5. Tickets may be purchased the day of the Tour, December 6, at the library for $55 each. No tickets (wristbands) or booklets will be mailed this year. When purchasing online you can choose to pick up your wristband and booklet at the library any time before or on the day of the Tour. If you choose to download the booklet, you will still need to pick up your wristband at the library before or on the day of the Tour.
